The short version: BloomCraft stores your plant records on your own device as plain files. There is no account, no login, and no BloomCraft server holding your data. Three things reach the internet, all optional: identifying a plant from a photo, checking local humidity, and drafting posts you might share. Everything else works with no connection at all.

1. What the app accesses

Camera

Used only when you tap the shutter on the scan screen. BloomCraft does not record video, does not use the camera in the background, and does not access your photo library.

Photos you take for a scan

When you capture a frame to identify a plant, that single image is resized on your device and sent, through BloomCraft's own relay server, to Google's Gemini API for analysis. You are asked for permission before the first photo is sent, and can withdraw it in Settings. The relay passes the photo straight through without storing it, and keeps only a small usage record (a random install number with no link to your name, the time, and how much processing the request used) to control costs and stop abuse. No identifier is sent to Google. Google's handling of the request is governed by their terms. If you never scan a plant, no image and no data ever leaves your device.

Your plant notes

Every plant you save becomes a plain text file in a folder you control — by default a private folder belonging to the app, or a folder you pick yourself. BloomCraft reads and writes those files locally. It does not sync, back up, or transmit them.

Location, if you allow it

If you grant location access, BloomCraft looks up current humidity, temperature, and UV index so watering intervals can adjust to your weather.

Post drafting, if you turn it on

Post drafting is off by default. When you switch it on, the names and conditions of plants in your greenhouse are sent to Google's Gemini API so it can draft posts about them. Nothing is published anywhere — drafts sit on your device until you share one through your phone's own share sheet. BloomCraft has no ability to post on your behalf.

Local preferences

A small amount of app state stays on the device: your chosen storage folder, whether you've seen the introduction, and questions you've drafted. Drafted questions are not published anywhere; there is no community server to send them to.

2. What the app does not do

3. Data retention and deletion

Your notes live in your storage folder until you remove them. Delete an individual plant inside the app, or delete the folder yourself. Deleting the app removes data in its private folder; files in a folder you chose survive uninstalling and remain yours. Your notes never reach any server, so there is no copy for us to delete and no export to request — you already hold the only copy, in a plain text format any editor can open.

4. Third-party services

5. Children's privacy

BloomCraft is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, this is a statement of intent rather than a filtering mechanism.

6. Changes

If BloomCraft gains a feature that collects or transmits anything new, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, not after.
